The video shows the artist removing the prayers inserted in the cracks between the stones of the Wailing Wall and reading them aloud. This “sacrilegious” revelation of the innermost wishes of those who come to one of the most holy places in the city of Jerusalem demonstrates the deeply rooted contradictions that constitute Israeli society, the links between its spiritual and political life, as well as the interconnected-ness of the private and public sphere in general.
